What to include
- Who the shower honors (the mom-to-be, or both parents)
- Who is hosting
- Date, time and address
- Registry details
- Any theme, and anything guests should bring for it
- Whether it’s a surprise
- An RSVP date, and how to contact the host
Traditionally a friend or relative hosts, but it’s now common for parents-to-be to host their own shower. Either is fine; just make the host’s name clear so guests know who to ask.

How to mention the registry
It’s perfectly normal to include registry details on a baby shower invitation. The party centers on gifts, and guests usually want to know. Keep it to one short line:
Priya is registered at Little Nest.
For gift ideas, see the registry on our baby website.
The parents-to-be are registered at Little Nest and Bloom Baby.
Your presence is the best gift, but if you’d like to bring something, the registry is at Little Nest.
RSVP lines
Kindly reply by March 27.
Please reply to Anna by April 2 so we can plan the food.

When to send baby shower invitations
Send invitations four to six weeks before the shower. Most showers take place four to eight weeks before the due date, which leaves time to use the gifts while the parent-to-be still feels up to a party. If you’d rather celebrate after the baby arrives, look at sip and see invitations instead.
Find a design in our baby shower invitations, add your wording and email it to every guest. You’ll see who has opened it and can remind anyone who hasn’t replied.
